From 10–14 March 2026, VALTIP4 (ACIAR FST/2023/153), in partnership with the Women’s Cooperation for Development Association (MHP), held a Training of Trainers on the GALS toolkit at the Faculty of Forestry Science, NUoL.
12 project team members (10 women) learned and practiced all 6 GALS tools — Life Goals, Diamond, Balance Tree, Relationship Web, and Vision Journey — including hands-on facilitation in a local village, to strengthen gender-responsive data collection across the forestry value chain, from planting through to wood processing.
Post-training results show 66% of participants can now confidently apply the tools — a strong step toward embedding gender analysis into VALTIP4’s ongoing work. Next: rolling out GALS in 4 project villages in Savannakhet province.
